USA ready to assist Uganda’s tourism sector

The news that has so far been received from the UWA offices in Kampala reveal that the United States government is jus about to present the $20m for the five year program which is aimed at promoting both Uganda’s tourism industry as well as the biodiversity conservation at national level and in some other selected areas.  Ms Virginia Blaser who is the deputy US ambassador to Uganda mentioned that USA will keep its promise to help Uganda protect its tourists attractions and therefore will maintain its long standing partnership with Uganda to help it achieve its goal.  She said so during the official opening of UWA’s new website in Kampala which website is also developed to help market Uganda’s tourists’ attractions like the wildlife in the national parks, cultural centers, among others

This is just one of the many programs in Uganda that USA is funding and in 2010, the US government spent $5m on a particular USAID – Star program for five years and tit was set to ensure sustainable tourism development as well as biodiversity conservation. The current programs will be operating closely with the Uganda’s National Development Plan and in this case, tourism will be their number one priority for future growth and development.

Mr. Andrew Sseguya ,Uganda Wildlife Authority’s executive director  said that this new site will basically pass on news and tourism product marketing to all potential tourists from all over the world and also will show them how can plan out their trips, fundraising and how to best to  travel around in all the  Uganda’s national parks.
