Kenya wins big in the World Travel Awards Africa

There are 9 Kenyan firms including Kenya Airways that were awarded for their services in the tourism and travel industry at the World Travel Awards Africa category held in Abuja, Nigeria. Kenya Airways was selected as Africa’s leading airline in the business class and then South African Airways was the overall best airline in Africa while Ethiopian Airlines was the best in the economy class category.

Kenya Tourism Board emerged out as the best marketing agency, then Leopard Beach Resort located in Kwale County as Africa’s leading spa resort.

Game Watchers Safaris which is managed by former KTB chair Jake Grieves-Cooke emerged as the best tented camp for its Porini camps in Amboseli and Maasai Mara game reserves and then Maasai Mara was named the best national park in Africa.

When it came to the best beach hotel, Diani Beach hotel won and then Sarova Shaba won the regional eco-lodge category. Sarova Whitesands beach resort was named best eco-hotel and then last was the Finch Hattons which was voted as the continent’s leading safari lodge. All the success is attributed to the hard work that the government and the management of all these companies are putting. This is expected to have an impact on the number of arrivals in the coming months or years.
