Tsavo national park is one of Kenya’s oldest parks  and it occupies a space of over 11747 sq km in the Eastern part and that part forms the Tsavo east in the east of Nairobi –Mombasa road and then in the western side, it occupies 9,065 sq km and that  makes the Tsavo west. The park is about 300km from Nairobi with a large piece of untapped semiarid bush supported by Galana River which meanders through as well as the lava from the Yatta plateau and has a very high population of elephants

Tsavo is among those parks that are highly visited in Kenya probably because of its spectacular landscape next to the coast and also it is recognized as one of the world’s most important biodiversity, bushy and open plains alternate with savannah and semiarid acacia scrub and thus woodlands creating a great home for the elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, waterbucks, there are crocodiles, hippos and many more others.

Besides the wildlife, there are other attractions like the Aruba Dam which is  on the northern bank of the seasonal Voi River where game drives are done, there is  the  Mudanda  Rock, the  Yatta plateau which has a huge flow of  Lava flow making  the place very beautiful and good for the photographers, there is the Lugard falls. And also bird watching is done, trekking, and camping.

Tsavo west is 240km from Nairobi with all the same wildlife like the dik-dik, lesser kudu, hyrax, wild dogs, mongoose and birds but there is also the Mzima spring, underwater hippo, fish watching, cave exploration, hiking, among others. This is the must visit place while in Kenya for adventure and will not regret the decision.
