THE CELEBRATING OF THE 6th ANNUAL KWITA IZINA CEREMONY IN RWANDA

Last week in Rwanda, the naming of gorillas ceremony which is known as the 6th annual kwita izina was held in Kinigi which is located in Musanze district. The ceremony was celebrated together with the World Environment Day (WED). Rwanda hosted the two ceremonies and 14 new born baby gorillas were given names  instead of 16 because the two died before their first birthday.

The role of this ceremony was to inform the world about the protection of the gorillas and their environment and the naming was done by conservationists from the whole world.This naming of  the gorillas ceremony has led to the coming of local,international and regional visitors to Volcanoes national park to see these endangered species.
