The information got from Mombasa reveal that the Kenyan tourism Industry has not been affected in any way by the chaos that has been happening there in the past few days.in the process, there are several people that have lost their lives and these include three policemen and all this happened following the murder of Muslim cleric Aboud Rogo. However, according to Roberto Macri who is the Italian Consulate in Malindi, this chaos was just reaction to the killing of the Muslim leader which will not affect the tourism industry in any way.

He also said while on phone that no tourists should get worried about security and they should go on with their holiday activities as there is and won’t be any problems in Malindi and everything will be as it was before sooner than you can imagine.

Meanwhile the association of pastors in Malindi held a joint press conference where several officials from Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims were present and from here they mentioned that lack of stability might drive the tourists out of Mombasa. Bishop Thomas Kakala said that an effect on tourism will also greatly affect the people who live in the North Coast and other parts of the Coastal region since they mainly depend on tourism fro survival.

He also mentioned that it is likely that tourists will run away from the locals’ shops and this means that their stock will not be selling which will affect so many people from within the region.  The government is supposed to be quick with its investigations and produce a report if they have to reduce the tensions so said Sheikh Omar Dima at the press conference. According the sources, Rogo was killed on Monday afternoon while on his way to the hospital together with his father, five year old daughter and other relatives to have his wife check after having a miscarriage two weeks ago.
