gorilla-silverback-bwindiUganda is one country that is really blessed with a variety of amazing tourism sites. Different parts of this country have different landscapes with great views and regardless of all the other challenges that you may face while trying to explore different places around the country like the poor roads, you will be amazed by what you will see. On your Safari in Uganda, when you visit the national parks you will find almost all the animals, there is the beautiful Rift Valley, mountain ranges, the craters, different water bodies with all their aquatic life and those really dense ever green forests. There are so many tourism activities that you can include in your itinerary as you plan for your Uganda safari and some of them include;

Go for chimpanzee Trekking

You can go for the Chimpanzees trekking adventure. This is one of the activities that you can do on your primates tour, it includes visiting one or more places in Uganda where these chimpanzees are found for example in Kibale forest park and in Kibale you can either do the ordinary chimpanzee trek which takes like 4 hours or you can go for the chimpanzee habituation exercise which is a full day activity. There are 13 different primates in Kibale and among them are the 1500 chimpanzees. Other places where chimpanzee trekking is done is the Kyambura gorge forest in Queen Elizabeth park, in Budongo forest as you head to Murchison falls national park, there are chimpanzees in Kalinzu forest near Queen Elizabeth park and also in Ngamba island where the only chimpanzee sanctuary in Uganda is found. In Ngamba, you will have closer contact with them since you will participate in feeding them. Fortunately during the trekking, chimpanzees are not the only primates you will find in these forests, you will also spot lots of other forest species.

Gorilla Trekking in Uganda’s Beautiful Forests

This is Uganda’s most selling tourism attraction since this country has more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population. Majority of the gorillas found a home in the popular impenetrable Bwindi forest while others can be found in Mgahinga national park and together, there are 11 families that are accessed by tourists and researchers in Uganda.   You can never be sure how much time you will spend in the jungle tracking a particular family down since they keep moving from one location to another which is why you will have a ranger guide you to take you to where he expects them to be on a particular day. You will walk through thick forests, along steep slopes, may be under bad weather which is why you should know what to carry for this kind of adventure.  You will have an hour to spend with them once you meet your gorilla family and then take pictures. This is a memorable experience you should try out.

Visit The Former Capital City-Jinja

Originally it was just an ordinary industrious town however today it is more than that. It’s one of the greatest tourist destinations that should never be missed in your itinerary because it has numerous great attractions. Explore the Beauty of Lake Victoria

Your safari to Uganda should definitely include visiting Africa’s biggest lake which will be a great destination more so for the bird watchers. There are so many places along the Lake Victoria which are dwelling places for birds. Lake shores especially around Entebbe area like at Mabamba wetlands where you are more like to see the rare shoe bill stork than you are in a national park and along the beaches.    Within Lake Victoria is Ngamba Island which located just about 45 minutes away from the main land and there you will find the only chimpanzees sanctuary. There are 48 orphaned chimps which you can watch as they feed, watch play and interact with one another.
