horseback-safari-ugandaHorseback ride safaris is one of the rarely done activities in Uganda but it is for sure an amazing activity that is worth every moment of your time as it is both fun and relaxing. Horseback ride is a suitable additional activity to include in your Uganda safari itinerary and it should be pre-organized to avoid disappointment.

Horse rides take about 1-3 horse and you will have a trained staff to take you out for the ride. There are just a few places where this kind of safari is done in Uganda ;

Where horseback ride is done

Lake Mburo National Park

Horse rides in Lake Mburo can be organized and get the booking done with Mihingo lodge where the stable is. This can be done in the morning after breakfast or in the evening after another activity. Horse riding in Mburo is more like a game drive or nature walk because as you ride through the park, you will definitely get to see a lot of wildlife along the trails. This ride gives you the chance to get closer to the animals since you can always get off the usual wildlife viewing tracks, into the plains and also because the animals aren’t threatened by the presence of a horse like the case is with a vehicle approaching.

Horseback ride requires no experience and that means even the first time riders will definitely enjoy the experience. You will Ride through the gently rolling hills, enjoy the view of the whole park and it is the option you have to sample the game life in the park.

Horse ride in Jinja

The Nile horse ride can also be organized in Jinja. For every horse ride safari, there will be two or more trained guides or rangers to accompany you for safety reasons. You will get the very well trained horses which any one can use including those with very little experience.
Riding can be done in groups or individually but if it’s a group you are still free to temporarily separate from your group and at that point the more experienced horse riders can accelerate to any pace of their choice meanwhile those that are inexperienced can always stay within the speed they feel comfortable with.

In Jinja, you can also do a walking only horse safari which lasts about 1 hour. This is better than horse riding for those who want to just take time off to relax and just enjoy the scenery of the Nile. It is also perfect for those travelers that have kids along with them.
