Where to Stay in Lake Mburo National Park – Accommodation

mihingo-lodgeLake Mburo National Park is the smallest national Park in the Country and most of it is covered by the lake – Lake Mburo from which it obtained its name. Despite its small size, the park offers a variety of wildlife habitats that host different wild animals and plants. The most Common activity done while on your Uganda Safari here is the boat ride, however there are also enjoyable game drives, guided walk and horseback safaris.

Mihingo Safari Lodge

This is a luxury lodge found next to Lake Mburo National Park on top of a rocky hill offers visitors an uninterrupted view of the beautiful surrounding. The lodge has a beautiful lake that overlooks the green valley below in which warthogs, buffaloes, zebras, impala and elands are usually seen drinking water at the waterhole.

It offers 12 luxury self-contained tented rooms; each beautifully furnished and decorated to offer you a warm comfortable stay. Each has an en-suite bathroom and toilet with flowing hot and cold water, plus a private veranda with a breathtaking view.

Your morning tea / coffee will be delivered in your room and this you can enjoy outside on your private Verandah.

Lake Mburo Luxury Tented Camp

Located within Lake Mburo National Park, this is a nice tented camp offering several amenities that will make your stay a very enjoyable.

They have nine beautiful spacious tents raised on strong wooden platforms, and these elegantly decorated and fitted nice beds, a dining table, a self-contained bathroom & flush toilet and a dressing area. They also have each a bush shower in which you can enjoy a shower outside with the beautiful stars shining over you.

Arcadia Cottage

This mid-range accommodation facility is located a couple of meters from the park headquarters in the middle of a beautiful acacia forest. This area is frequently visited by a couple of animals such as bush backs and warthogs.

It has a communal restaurant and Bar stocked with various beers, wines, whiskeys and soft drinks. The restaurant prepares a variety of tasty dishes done by their chef. Enjoy the good services offered by their professional friendly staff.

Each of the 7 chalets stands separately from the other and contains self-contained bathroom and toilet with running water, has a spacious bedroom, a mosquito net plus good lighting powered by a generator.

Rwonyo Rest Camp

This is a budget facility run by the Uganda Wildlife Authority. tented-luxury-campHere accommodation is offered in thatched tents or in cabin. This is the perfect place for travelers on a very limited budget. When it comes to restaurants you may opt to eat at the Arcadia cottages or at the lakeside restaurant.

The tents are furnished and each comes with its own bathroom. However the cabins have shared bathrooms.

Unique about Rwonyo Rest Camp is that it is often visited by many wild animals. So even before you embark on a game drive, you would have seen several wild animals here. Some of the animals usually sighted are waterbucks, warthogs, bushbuck and impalas plus leopards. There are also so many types of birds living around this camp, and the African Fin foot is among them.
