Watamu, one of Kenya’s most beautiful coastal towns has been identified by the global property services firm Knight Frank as one of the six “world’s best places, very suitable for one to buy a home. Watamu ranked sixth after Muscat in Oman, London in UK, Cyprus – an island country, Singapore – a Southeast Asian city-state, and Dubai in the UAE in the article that was first realized in the Forbes India magazine on November 23rd.

Knight Frank identified the Medina Palms which property is also the selling agent, as some sort of beachside decadence at a bargain price. This is a luxurious facility and it consists of two luxury ocean villas, eight beach villas, two ocean view lodges, 16 penthouses and 22 apartments. All the 50 units have private access to the protected waters of Watamu Marine National Park which makes it more beautiful and unique.

The villa is about 5,000 square foot and costs from about Sh74.5 million in Watamu especially since it has turned into a “beach-side paradise” mostly visited by who we called the high net-worth people and expatriates buying luxury homes. This place is an attraction for the super-rich, with Knight Frank citing rental yields of 8% the prime residential properties.

Watamu’s shoreline has got the white sand beaches and offshore coral formations arranged on Watamu Bay, Blue Lagoon and Turtle Bay. The marine national park has some of the most beautiful sites for snorkeling and diving on the coast. For that matter, the CNN Travel declared Watamu together with Diani, as the second and third respectively, among the top 25 beach destinations in Africa.
