News from Mwanza province state that Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) through their Mwanza Office has asked the residents of the Lake Zone to invest in Lake Victoria together with other different resources that are available in the area that have not been fully utilized.
Ms Gloria Munhambo who is the Regional Officer said while addressing the Daily News that people in the area should get some time and visit domestic tourists attractions so that they can discover opportunities which have not been utilized. It will be very good if the locals invested in tourism so that they can promote it in Mwanza and other regions that are within the Lake Zone so said Ms Munhambo.
She added that this Lake provides a huge opportunity for people in the Lake Zone to develop the area as a tourist attraction region however, only a few of them have utilized it to invest in tourism and yet there are other opportunities that they can invest in like fishing trips for those tourists who love fishing with local people, one can invest in hiking on the rocks which brings in special snake parks as locals have traditions of dancing with snakes But also Lake Victoria itself is an attraction with the largest part in Mwanza and covered by rocks which can also act as tourist attraction to some tourists.
