Thousands celebrate Assumption Day at Kibeho Shrine, Rwanda

Kibeho-Rwanda-PilgrimagesOver 10,000 pilgrimages are said to have visited the Lady of Kibeho Catholic Shrine yesterday to celebrate the Assumption Day. It is alleged that back in the 1980’s, Mary the mother of Jesus appeared to a couple of people. These apparitions are actually officially documented with the Catholic Church which officially sanctioned this site and several believers pilgrimage to this place today.

Each year, on the 15th day of the month of August, the Catholic Church celebrates the Assumption Day- when Mary Mother of Jesus was taken to heaven. The Kibeho prayer site receives thousands and thousands of pilgrimages not only from Rwanda but from all parts of the world, and each passing year the numbers keep increasing. Several countries within East Africa and West Africa are currently organizing Religious Tours to Rwanda so visit Kibeho on this day.
