By June 6, 2012kenya tourism news

There were hundreds of Kenyans who enjoyed the Madaraka celebration over the weekend and so majority of them took their families from Nanyuki, Isiolo and Embu went out and they had to travel to Sarova Shaba lodges in Isiolo where the grant celebrations where held.  The occasion was such an interesting and memorable one because all the guests, management, staff and a number of tourists came together to hour the event.

According to Anthony Kashero the lodge manager, there were a high number of tourists who have booked with the lodge and majority of them were local tourists for example they had over 60 students from Nairobi and 70 other clients from parts of Kenya who had also come with their families to enjoy the day with the rest of the tourists.

He added that currently there is an increase in the number of local tourists and lead have led to an improvement in the performance of the hospitality industry as they take up the opportunity to taste the various services that the lodge provides to is customers like the bush dinner, sun downer cocktails, among others that the clients love so much. Kashero is also the vice chairman of the Kenya Association of Hotel Keepers and Caterers and he said that the improvement in the levels of domestic tourism is as a result of improved marketing strategies and increasing desire for the Kenyans to test those various services.  You can always enjoy your stay at Shaba which is the jewel of northern Kenya and a home to lioness Elsa and her cubs and considering its beauty, this park is perhaps Africa’s Hollywood site since there are so many international films that have been shot here so said Kashero.
