TANZANIA TO ADDRESS CULTURAL TOURISM.

According to Mr. William Halula who is the TTB Information Officer mentioned last Tuesday that this programme will make it possible for the society to be apart of the tourism programs as well as in the  encouragement of  all the traditional activities which can be attractive to tourists.  Mr. Halule while he was addressing people in the sustainable tourism training programme in Dar which was prearranged by Responsible Tourism Tanzania and was financed the British High Commission but are more interested in teaching  tourism business operators on responsible tourism and eco-certification schemes.

Mr. Halula also mentioned that the cultural tourism idea has been flourishing in so many other countries and a lot of money is earned through the sell of tradition services which is the reason why Kenya has decided to venture into the system to be able to attract more tourists to the country. This has worked so well in the western countries and through this several people have been able to improve on their standards of living.

He also emphasized that they will put more emphasis on locain Mtwara, Lindi, Ruvuma, Mbeya as well as Iringa areas because people here are still ignorant about their tourism potentials and yet they do have a rich cultural activities which would attract so many tourists. It is however very important to note that Chris Thompson a Travelife Consultant and also a trainers mentioned that it is very necessary for a country to encourage cultural tourism  because there are so many people from over seas who many want to see the Tanzanian real cultures.

There is a lot that Tanzania can offer He said Tanzania has a lot to offer to tourists which is not commonly seen in any other parts of the world. Cultural tourism also helps the nation to keep its identity and their beliefs from getting flashed down the drain but the introduction of Western culture.
