Serengeti national park wins a tourism award

Great news from Arusha reveals that the Serengeti National Park is a winner of the 2013 global winner of International Award in Tourism, Hotel and Catering Industry. According to Mr. Paschal Shelutete who is the Tanzania National Park’s Public Relations Manager, TANAPA will be collecting the prestigious award for Serengeti on Thursday during a special occasion in Madrid of Spain.

This award was created by an international businessmen group called the Global Trade Leaders Club whose membership base is of more than 7,000 associated companies from across the world. It was also established to recognize the prestige of companies and organizations working for the tourism, hotel and catering industry in an effort to encouraging players in this sector something that is very important for the development of these countries.

This time, this year’s award ceremony will gather tourism professionals from more than 40 countries around the world and will be taking place at the same time as  the International Tourism Fair in Madrid because these fairs are the major meeting points for the tourist industry worldwide. Serengeti national park is Tanzania’s oldest and most known park gazette in 1959 and it is also recognized as a world heritage site. It is very famous for its massive annual Serengeti is famed for its annual wildebeest migration which includes movements of more than six million hooved mammals to Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya. There are over 200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thompson gazelle in the territorial trek from the Ngorongoro plains up to Serengeti Savannah and then onto Kenya’s Maasai Mara. Serengeti is one wonderful place to visit if you are really interested in Tanzania’s wildlife.
