For those of you who have been following up on our story about the position of the Chief Executive Officer at the Kenya Airport Authority being filled up, the long awaited day has finally come! Jonny Anderson who was appointed as Kenya Airport Authority’s new Chief Executive Officer has eventually taken up office.
Earlier in the day, he had a meeting with retired General Julius Karangi the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and a number of board members along with the airport management team to formally be introduced to the people he will be working with he finally settling down to a his primary task of piloting the Kenya Airport Authority into a better organized, managed and competent authority.
Jonny Anderson who pervious served as one of the top directors at Avinor based in Norway, a national company that manages seven airports within that country. It is he that is taking over as the new CEO at KAA which over the past couple of years has been led by a number of CEOs with corruption and misconduct as the chore challenges that have led this authority to drown in a number of challenges which in fact led to a number of senior staff members
Kenyans are confident that the experience which Mr. Anderson has attained over the years as he managed several top airports in Europe will do him well as he implements and puts in order all the tasks awaiting him in his office including transforming KAA into a contemporary airport management authority and expand the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Considering the so much chaos and mismanagement that has been in this authority, this is going to be a long and somewhat challenging road for him until he eventually cleans up the authority. The Kenya Airport Authority manages a number of other airports, aerodromes as well as airfields across different parts of the country including in Kisumu, Mombasa, Eldoret, Malindi, Lamu, Ukunda, and many other places.
