New CEO for Kenya Tourism Board

betty-radier-ktbBetty Radier the Managing Director of Scanad was recently appointed as Kenya Tourism Board’s new Chief Executive after an intensive selection process. This announcement of her appointment was made by Jimmy Kariuki the Board Chairman.

Ms. Jacinta Nzioka who was the acting Chief Executive Officer is going to continue holding this office until 1st December, 2016 when Ms. Betty Radier will be officially introduced to the staff of Kenya Tourism Board as well as the general public. As Ms. Betty Radier joins the Kenya Tourism Board she has served in top positions in a number of leading advertising agencies with in east Africa over the past nearly 2 decades. Besides her impressive credentials she holds a BA as well as an MBA.

On the hand, it was decided that Ms. Jacinta will carry on her duties serving as the marketing Director of the Kenya Tourism Board – a very important role considering the challenges that the tourism sector of Kenya has been undergoing over the past couple of years.

This great announcement was a few days before the kickoff of the 2016 thrilling Kenya Travel Expo that will begin on the 12th of October 2016 running for a couple of days until the 14th of October 2016 when it will be closed with a festival dinner. During the dinner, they will also announce and award the yearly EcoWarrior Awards and that will mark the end of the 2016 MKTE.

Close to 200 visiting buyers plus several worldwide media houses are currently within Nairobi (the capital city of Kenya) and have traveled to be part of this major event, which is not only crucial to Kenya as a country but the entire east African region considering that SITE within Dar es Salaam has recently announced that there won’t be a 2016 trade show but the event will be postponed to 2017.
