Hoteliers speak about the state’s security

Hoteliers in Kenya have assured all travelers that Kenya is still a safe place for them to visit despite the fact that the elections are approaching as well as the fact that there have been series of instabilities resulting from the terrorism attacks  from the Alshabab.

According to Phillip Chai who is the chairperson of the Kenya Hotel Keepers and Caterers Association’s North Coast, there are no reasons for alarm because the government has already put measures in place to ensure tight security in all parts of the country.  He is quoted to have said “I want to assure all tourists that they have nothing to fear because the country’s security matters are under control.”

He was giving his speech in Malindi during the arrival of Silvio Berlusconi who is the former Italiand Prime Minister together with his billionaire friend Flavo Bliatore last Thursday; Chai mentioned that the coming of these two people is an indicator that tourists still believe that Kenya is safe enough for them to travel there. Kenya has got lots of tourist attractions like the wildlife, historical sites, the coastal attractions,  among so many others.

Chai is also the manager of the Lion in the Sun Resort which is owned by Bliatore and thinks that tourists should not worry about security because of the last attacks in some parts of the country. Therefore all those reports that Kenya is not safe due to attacks from terror gangs and the al Shabaab militia do not mean that the Coastal region is unsafe. He also said that government has come up with a strategy to ensure that elections end successfully.
