Fly 540’s adventure in Kenya

By October 23, 2012Kenya safaris

Fly540 airline has been granted by the courts of law temporary relief which will be for about 30 days but this might the company’s last lifeline in Kenya following the fact that the creditors are currently planning to have the airline wound up. They are reported to have disregarded a court ruling by commercial court Justice Jonathan Havelock to pay about 700.000 US Dollars for fuel bills in mid February 2012, according to a reliable source in Nairobi, some of the cheques were not paid. Justice Havelock in an unusually strong sentiment called the defense mounted by the airline at the time a ‘sham’ and though the airline later claimed to have dismissed the fuel claims as not true, the judgment of the Commercial Court still stands, unless appealed and overturned by a court of the next instance.

Meanwhile, the fuel suppliers have had two former airline staff also the application to have Fly 540 wound up. According to a regular source from the aviation, all you need to do is look out for who runs that airline as well as the track record, failed at Regional Air and failed before and then ask your self why should this time be different? Besides the fact that this time we have a new judiciary which has already proven that they are ready to rule on fact and not on fiction.

This temporary relief of the company will only last 30 days therefore the grace days will be through by 12th of November, hopefully they will have sorted the issues out for the good of the company.
