Sightseeing in Uganda, Safari Attractions
Day 1; TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NP
Our tour guide will pick you up and after briefing you about the trip,he will transfer you to Queen Elizabeth common for its diversity of wildlife, open Savannah, Rain forest, dense swamps, and beautiful crater lakes to the enormity of Lake Edward. It is a home for the Savannah wildlife species like the Buffaloes, Lions, Leopard, Spotted Hyena, Hippos and the elusive giant forest hog while the primates include Chimps, Black and white Colobus Monkeys, Blue, Black Faced Red Colobus, and Red Tailed monkeys and Olive Baboons. You will also have a game drive en route and have be able to see the flora and Fauna found in this park. Visit the crater lakes region then after retire for dinner and overnight at Mweya safari lodge or Jacana safari lodge / Hippo hill camp /Albertine camp
Day 2; the game drive and launch cruise
Early in the morning after breakfast, drive to the grazing ground of the Uganda Kob for a game drive in search for lions in their natural habitat, as well as elephants, buffaloes etc. You will return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast, you will have time to relax as you wait for your lunch. In the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel the waterway that joins Lake Edward to Lake George and see the hippos in big numbers, the buffaloes, with elephants before you return to the lodge for dinner and the night.
Day 3; Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge
After another early morning game drive, today we drive to Kyambura Gorge which is a home to the chimpanzees for trekking. You can expect to see more than the chimpanzees as there are lots of other primates like the Black and white Colobus monkeys and other animals like antelopes, hyenas, Lion and many others in the middle of savanna grassland. This gorge is a home of very many bird species and therefore a good place for the bird lovers to visit fro birding. Dinner will be back at your lodge.
Day 4; To Bwindi National Park
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bwindi National Park. You will pass through the Ishasha sector to have a game drive to search for tree climbing lions and have an excellent view of lions in Acacia trees. After this you will transfer to Bwindi national park, you will have an en route lunch and then dinner and overnight will be at either;
Budget – Buhoma Community bandas or Bwindi View bandas or Nkuringo campsite tents or Virunga Hotel or Nkuringo safari centre
Moderate- Lake Kitandara camp or Nkuringo camp site or Wagtail Eco lodge or similar
Up market – Engagi lodge or Buhoma lodge or Gorilla Resort camp or Traveler’s rest camp or Silver back lodge/ Gorilla safari lodge/clouds lodge
Luxury – Gorilla Forest Camp or Clouds Lodge or Gahinga Volcanoes Lodge, or Volcanoes Bwindi safari Lodge
Day 5; Gorilla Tracking
Go gorilla tracking early in the morning with the help of the ranger who will help you spot the gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to 5 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes and when you meet them, you will have an hour to Sit in the forest among the gorillas, listening to them grumble to each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male; the silverback. There are lots of tree ferns, epithytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s colorful array of butterflies, birds and primates from the forest edge. Overnight will be at your lodge.
Day 6; To Lake Mburo National Park
You will wake up early and drive through twisted and winding roads, and lake dotted countryside, before you get to the lower thorn and savannah scrub lands of Lake Mburo National Park. Mburo is one part in the country with noticeably different fauna compared to other reserves for example the widespread acacia woodland which makes it the best place in the country to see the gargantuan eland antelope, as well as zebra, topi, impala, and several acacia-associated birds. The five lakes within the park are home to a hippo population of hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds, while swamps hide enigmatic papyrus specialists like the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus gonalek. Day 7; Nature walk to the salt lick and Canoe ride
Wake up for breakfast and go for a nature walk to the salt lick and here you will see lots of animals when they have come to lick the salts. A walk to the near by salt lick is a summary of your trip to Lake Mburo but this is done without the animal’s conscience as they may run away if they sense danger from the humans. Return to the lodge for lunch and then later go for a canoe ride along Lake Mburo to see the hippos, the water birds, the crocodiles among others. You will then return to your lodge for dinner and over night.
Day 8; departure.
Take breakfast, transfer to Kampala where you can always have a Partial City tour for example shop for the African stuff from the city craft shops or even others but this depend on the amount of time you have before your flight back home otherwise the driver can drive you straight to the airport if you have no time for that.
