Mountain Gorillas and Chimpanzee tour in Uganda featuring the Ngamba Jane Goodall Chimp Island, Kibale Forest, Kyambura Gorge, Bwindi Impenetrable and the Virungas....SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY OF THE" APE PERMITS"
Day 1:
Arrive Entebbe, met at the airport by our representative and transfer to the Windsor Lake Victoria for
Safari briefing. Later after lunch, transfer to the Lake Victoria Shore for a speed boat to Izinga Island for a visit to the Jane Goodall Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Return to the hotel for a welcome Dinner before overnight.
Day 2:
Breakfast then a take a 5 - 6 hour road transfer on a very good road to the edge of the Maramagambo Forest. After lunch at the Jacana safari Camp, take an afternoon forest walk in search of the primates among them Chimpanzees. Dinner and overnight at the Jacana Safari Camp.
Day 3:
Breakfast early then transfer into the Chambura Gorge for a morning walk to trek the Chimpanzees and other primates. After lunch, in Fort portal travel to Kibale Forest for an evening walk along the forest edges before dinner and overnight at Ndali Lodge.
Day 4:
Travel back to Kibale forest after an early breakfast for a morning chimp trek, this forest is known to hold over 10 primate species. In the evening, we take a nocturnal forest walk in the forest to spot the Bushbabies, Galagos and potos. Thereafter, depart for Ndali Lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5:
Early departure for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park with picnic lunch. Arrive Early evening for a forest walk along the River Munyaga before dinner and overnight at the Gorilla Forest Camp.
Day 6:
After breakfast, report at the park offices for a briefing by the ranger guides prior to the trek to find the Mountain Gorillas with a picnic lunch. The gorillas are tracked, located and after approximately one hour with them, return to the base for a shower and cold drink. Dinner and overnight at Gorilla Forest Camp.
Day 7:
Travel to Kisoro after breakfast through beautiful mountain sceneries. After lunch at the Mgahinga Safari Lodge take a boat launch cruise on Lake Mutanda before dinner and overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge.
Day 8:
Breakfast early then transfer to the Virunga volcanoes for another trek of the Dian Fossey Mountain gorillas. There after if time allows, visit the Karisoke Rearch Centre where Dian Fossey spent 20 years studying mountain gorillas. Return to Mgahinga Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge.
Day 9:
After breakfast, transfer to Mbarara for lunch at the Lakeview Hotel. Later travel to Kampala arriving late evening for a farewell dinner and overnight at the Kampala Sheraton Hotel.
Day 10:
After breakfast and shopping in Kampala, transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
