6DAYS TOUR TO LAKE MBURO,BWINDI AND QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park

You will be briefed about your trip by your guide before you drive from Kampala to Lake Mburo National Park situated in the Southern part of Uganda. You will go for game drive upon you arrival in search for wildlife like the Zebra as they lots of them in Lake Mburo national park, since the acacia forests and wetlands are home to an impressive variety of antelope including the impala and giant eland, you can expect to see them, lions, etc during the game drive. You then go for then go for an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo after your lunch and since the lake is rich with a variety of animals and plant species which will be viewed clearly while on the boat trip. You will see animals like the hippopotami and birds like Black crake, Heron, Pelicans, fish eagle, African Fin foot, cormorant, you may also sight the rare Shoebill Stork and all these will furnish your visit with pride.

Your dinner and overnight will be at either;

Luxury; Mihingo/Mantana tented camp

Mid range: Agip motel in Mbarara/ Arcadia cottages

Budget: Rwonyo Bandas

Day 2: Game drives and then transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After having breakfast very early in the morning, your guide will take you for a game drive and you can expect to see over 68 different species of mammals such as Impala, jackals, Buffalo, Eland, leopard, Topi, Hyenas and Zebra. The park has got five lakes within and therefore a home to lots of crocodiles, hippos, and so many water birds, while the fringing swamps have got secretive papyrus specialists like the sitatunga antelope and red, black and yellow papyrus Gonalek. After the game drive, you will head to Bwindi Forest. You will arrive late and there have your dinner and sleep waiting for the next day.

Budget accommodation – Buhoma Community Bandas or Bwindi view Bandas or Virunga Hotel in Kisoro

Mid range accommodation – Lake Kitandara camp /Engagi lodge/ Travelers’ rest hotel in Kisoro

Standard accommodation – Buhoma Lodge / Silver back lodge / Gorilla Resort Camp/ Nkuringo camp site cabins in Kisoro / Gorilla Safari Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking

You will have breakfast very early in the morning, go for briefing and then go for gorilla tracking in the dense bush to trek for these endangered animals called the great Apes (Gorillas). Other primates you may come across in the jungle include the black-and-white colobus monkey, red tail monkey and chimpanzee. It may take about 1-10 hours before you see them and you will have an hour to sit in the jungle with them before you can return to the lodge for relaxation or go for community walk but this optional.

Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

After your breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park located at the foot of the Rwenzori Mountains, protecting over 200 sq km of Rift Valley Savanna, interspersed with patches of forest and crater lakes. You will enjoy an afternoon launch trip along the Kazinga Channel upon your arrival and have an opportunity to see different water birds, crocodiles and hippos which is an interesting experience. There are lots of bird species which include the 11 types of king fisher, black bee- eater and several species of falcons, eagles and the raptors and many more. Your dinner will be at either;

Luxury; Mweya Safari Lodge or Jacana Safari Lodge or Katara Lodge

Mid range:  Hippo Hill Camp or Ihamba Lodge

Budget:  Simba Safari camp or Mweya hostel

Day 5: Game drive and chimpanzee tracking

You will have to wake up early in the morning, take a cup of coffee and go for a game drive to see wildlife like lions, Uganda Kobs, elephants, spotted hyenas and the leopard plus many others. You will return for mid morning breakfast, relax a little as wait for your lunch. After lunch in the afternoon, you will go to Kyambura gorge to do the chimpanzee trekking but will meet other primates too during the trekking and later return the lodge for dinner.

Day 6: Departure

Immediately after breakfast, you will start on journey to Kampala with your packed lunch as you will be arriving in the evening and will be dropped at any hotel in Kampala or at the airport to catch your flight back home.
