<p>Take your breakfast and head to Murchison Falls National Park.  You will drive through Luwero or Hoima then to Masindi from where you will connect to Murchison Falls Np. Visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary before reaching the park. After luch, proceed to the park.</p>

<p>After breakfast, go for Chimpanzee tracking in Kaniyo Pabidi Forest. This is an undisturbed area of natural forest within Budongo Forest Reserve where you can walk beneath mature mahogany and iron wood trees. Chimpanzee tracking is the most famous activity. You will definitely see many forest birds, including the chocolates-backed Kingfisher, the white-thigh hornbill, the chocolates-backed Kingfisher and puvel&#8217;s illadopsis found nowhere else in East Africa. <p><strong>Day 4: Game drive and launch cruise </strong></p>
<p>After a cup of coffee to gain warmth, you will be transferred to the northern part of Murchison falls National Park for a game drive.  The guide will explain more about each encounters like Giraffes, Elephants, Buffaloes, Bushbucks, Lions, and a variety of bird species. Return to the lodge a mid morning breakfast before you proceed for an afternoon  launch cruise to the bottom of the falls  of the mighty Murchison falls where menacing water escapes from the narrow gorge, an opportunity to see the amazing hippos, crocodiles, water birds along the river banks enabling a wonderful birding safari. <p><strong>Day 6: CHIMPANZEE TRACKING</strong></p>
<p>We will wake up early and depart to Kanyankyu tourists centre for clearance and briefing from the Ranger guides before we head to the forest for our next activity Chimpanzee tracking.   This is the most popular walk of Kibale’s walks and it starts at 0800 hours and lasts for 2-3 hours depending on the time you take to encounter chimpanzees.   Though you will be searching for these habituated chimpanzees, you will encounter other primates like the Black and white Colobus Monkeys’ Chimpanzees are more closely related to humans than to any other living creature, are tremendous fun to watch as they squabble and play in fruiting trees while they hunt for monkeys to prey on. <p><strong>Day 7: TO SEMLIKI WILDLIFE RESERVE     </strong></p>
<p>Wake up very early in the morning and leave for Semliki Wildlife Reserve; this scenic drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. Semliki reserve is situated in the basin of the Western Rift Valley. It is one of the most diverse habitats in Africa with wonderful examples of borassus palm forest,  Riparian forest, gallery rain forest and short and high grass savannas.  Semliki is one of Africa’s most biodiverse forest. It is particularly   well known for its varied bird population.  It is one of Africa’s most ancient Forests popular because of having survived the dry conditions of the last ice age 12-18000 years ago with Bwindi when most of the forests shrank and that is how it managed to protect some species that like the arid apocalypse until they eventually managed to emerge to re colonize a better wetter world.  After dinner go for a night drive. This is the only place in Uganda where you can do a spot lit night drive. You never know what you may see. Often the big cats are sighted as well as the diminutive genet and serval cats. Unusual nocturnal dwellers also show themselves, such as the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars depending on the time of year. Chimps are tracked by researchers in Semliki at dawn and dusk, as they tend to disappear in the middle of the day. There are also a number of bird species which are found in this picturesque forest. <p><strong>Day 9: TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK</strong></p>
<p>Depart to Queen Elizabeth National Park.   You will pass through the crater Valley with beautiful lakes and rich grasslands which are set deep. This is truly the most magnificent scenery in the park.  Queen Elizabeth hosts a large variety and volume of wildlife. It boasts one of the highest bio diversity ranging from the open Savannah to Rain forest, dense swamps and beautiful crater lakes to the vastness of Lake Edward. Almost 100 species that include Hippos, Buffaloes, Lions, Leopard, Spotted Hyena and the elusive giant forest hog. There are over 606 species of birds found here including the martial eagle, Verreaux’s eagle owl, black-rumped buttonquail and African skimmer among others. <p><strong>Day 10: CHIMP TRACKING IN THE KYAMBURA GORGE.</strong></p>
<p>After a cup of coffee, this morning we will leave for the 08.00am chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura Gorge. Expect to see various primates most especially Chimpanzee, Black and white Colobus monkeys  primates like the rd colobus monkeys, blue Mangebeys, black and white  colobus monkeys among others.  This gorge is a home of very many bird species. <p><strong>DAY 11: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE ALONG THE KAZINGA CHANNEL</strong></p>
<p>Take a cup of coffee and go for an early morning game drive in this park, provide excellent opportunities to see Lions, Cape Buffaloes, Giant Forest Hogs, Leopards, Elephants, Defassa Waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, Topi and Bush bucks and many more. After lunch, enjoy the unique 2-hour boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel and into Lake Edward. This trip passes through possibly the highest concentration of Hippos and many animals may be seen drinking at the water&#8217;s edge. <p><strong>Day 12: TO BWINDI NATIONAL PARK   </strong></p>
<p>In the morning after breakfast, leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through the Ishasha Sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth. Have lunch by the Ishasha River and find the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing on to Bwindi, home to the endangered mountain gorillas. Bird life and primate life in Bwindi is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Bwindi is the Bird watchers haven! It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda; and seven red data book species. Once continuous with the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is now an ecological island, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils. <p><strong>Day 13: Gorilla Tracking</strong></p>
<p>You will rise relatively early for a jovial breakfast to give you the energy needed for gorilla tracking.  Report to the ranger station at 08.00 am where the guides will take you through the forest, slashing at the undergrowth, parting thick creepers, to track gorillas. This trek can take from half an hour to five hours therefore a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. You sit in the forest among the gorillas listening to them grumble at each other and marvel at the sheer size of the dominant male, the silverback. It is amazing to think that there are only 650 or so of these creatures left in the world!  If you have the afternoon free, you will take a guided village walk to see how the Ugandans live. Lake Mburo National Park is an extension of the Tanzanian plains with big herds of zebra, impala, eland and other ungulates (clove hoofed animals). For birders, this is one of the best places to find African fin foot, papyrus bush shrike and the legendary Shoe bill. <p><strong>Day 19: NATURE WALK TO THE SALT LICK</strong></p>
<p>Go for an early morning game drive in search for animals and birds. This home of zebras in Uganda has over 310 bird species have been recorded in Lake Mburo National Park. It is probably the best place in Uganda to see Acacia associated birds and also of special interest to birders, are the swamps. The swamps are home to the highly localized Papyrus Yellow Warbler recorded nowhere else in Uganda. <p>After morning breakfast, take a brief game drive and then we will leave for Jinja the re-known source of the Longest River in Africa. Before Kampala we will take a stop over at the Equator for a pictorial opportunity as well as an informative talk from guides illustrating proofs that that is the Equator.  On arrival in Kampala, we will have lunch then head East passing coffee, Tea and Sugar plantations and the colorful roadside fruit/vegetable markets. The first stop is the Mabira Forest; here you will be able to see the primates, birds and butterflies in a brief nature walk.  Then continue to the source of the Nile. <p>Take break fast then leave Jinja for a full day excursion at Mountain Elgon National Park. Mountain Elgon has been an extinct volcano that first erupted more than 24 million years ago. With the largest surface area of any extinct Volcano in the World (50Km by 80Km), the mountain ranks fourth amongst the highest mountains of East Africa.  A day hike area will allow you to explore Mount Elgon’s diverse mountane forest. The popular forest exploration center trail loop site (Sipi trailhead) can make one enjoy the cool mist at Chebonet falls, Kapkwai cave, the talking tree as well as a spectacular view point, which lies just beyond.</p>

<p>Day 23: NGAMBA ISLAND</p>
<p>Having taken breakfast, you will be Visit UWEC (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre) the former Zoo and then after briefing and checking from Ngamba Island staff, walk to the shores of Lake Victoria to meet your 9.00am launch. The boat takes about 45 minutes across to Ngamba Island, crossing the Equator en-route. On arrival at the island, home to 39 chimpanzees, you will be given a short introduction about the history of the site. Then after, you will go to the feeding stand of where you will view while chimpanzee will be Fed. The characters as they struggle to get food are totally similar to man!  In the relatively short amount of time you are there you will be able to see such different personalities amongst the group, with some whistling for food and others clapping, others collecting food for their children,  while others will be scrambling to get food that they will keep . These apes feed twice in a day. Obviously the ideal option would be to re-introduce these orphaned chimpanzees to the wild however this is not possible for a number of different reasons and the sanctuary is not bad for second best. <p><strong>Day 24: THE FOREST WALK</strong></p>

The playful chimps climb on you, pull your hair, or just walk along holding your hand! <p>DAY 4 KIGALI-NYUNGWE</p>
<p>Drive to the south western part of Kigali  to Nyungwe Forest national park,.  Nyungwe forest is on a high elevation and simply placed on a 970 square kilometers land and it is very  it is apparent that it creates its own climate from its own biodiversity.</p>
<p>Nyunwe proffers a numerous biodiversity and it is the  largest protected high altitude rain forest in East Africa and a river catchment area for the Nile ,the congo rivers and so many others .</p>
<p>Being part of  Albertine Rift Valley system, the forest has so many species which include , mammals , reptiles, birds, primates, amphibians and plants hence worth the efforts  for those who visit it .</p>
<p>This results in a high species endemism, and for those who are lucky enough to visit here, a sighting of the forest’s numerous mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian and plant species makes it worth the effort to come out here.  Visit the museum and genocide memorial centres of Butare and Nyanza en route and then  have lunch en route . On arrival in the evening, you will indulge in an evening forest walk and thereafter , have dinner and over night .</p>

<p>DAY 5 CHIMPANZEE TRACKING</p>
<p>Take  breakfast   and then head to the park head quarters for briefing. You will then go  for chimpanzee  tracking in Nyungwe forest . The time taken to track chimpanzee and encounter them is unpredictable but usually take between 3- 10 hours . Along the hike , you will encounter  primates species that the park is  mostly fond  of  like  The Silver monkey, Owl faced monkey ,Ruwenzori collubus, L’Hoest’s monkey, the Grey cheeked Mangabey  and many others  After the trek return to base. For  dinner and over night . If  chimpanzee tracking ends early , you will have to take an afternoon Colobus monkey trek but this is subject to a availability of permits and it will be done at an extra cost .</p>

<p>Make a nature walk  this time to search  for Colobus monkeys . The guides will this time explain  to you the names of the birds along this trail together with the flora and Fauna .  return to the lodge for lunch . Later relax  as you wait for dinner and over night at your lodge.</p>

<p>Day 7  TRANSFER  FROM NYUNGWE  TO  KIBUYE (LAKE KIVU)</p>
<p>Take your breakfast and drive to the Bugarama hot water springs (the largest and biggest natural spring in Rwanda) via Cyamudongo natural forest. It is possible to take a warm bath in the hot springs if time allows but this must be pre arranged so that we plan   for it before .  We will later drive  to River Rusizi for a day trip with lunch and fresh drinks and then later transfer to Kibuye town.</p>

<p>Take breakfast and then later take your packed lunch with you for briefing at the ORTPN offices for briefing for gorilla tracking escorts and rangers.  You will then start tracking gorillas in Rwanda.</p>
<p>The bamboo forest logs  will dribble as you first perceive sound the breaking of bamboo  indicating that the  gorillas are nearer   then bingo  you  face to face with one of the most charming and mesmerizing beings in the world.  After gorilla tracking and encounter, stay with the gorillas for 1 hour and then and   trek back to your  lodge .   There is an optional visit to the twin lakes of Ruhundo and Bulera  but this can only be done if   gorilla tracking ends early .</p>

<p>Take a trek to the grave of the late famous gorilla s research – Dian Fossey . <p>DAY 13 HIKING MOUNTAIN  MT KARISIMBI</p>
<p>Assemble  at the ORTPN Offices for registration, briefing and allotment of  Ranger Guides who will escort you through trek the Mt. Karisimbi as well as hiking gear rentals . .    Mountain Karisimbi  gets its name from a Rwandese  word that means  &#8220;white shell&#8221; in English, because it is  often white-capped summit. The Karisimbi is the 5th  highest snowcapped mountain of Africa. The climb that must start early in the morning   and it takes 6 hours.  Start the  climb via the Bisoke side,  then later the first stopping place which is  at an altitude of 3.700 m ,  Yoou will pitch your tents here and have dinner and overnight half way up of Mt. Karisimbi (Camping gear is required) Packed dinner for your stay on the mountain may be available if arranged prior.</p>

<p>DAY 14  HIKING THE KARISIMBI</p>
<p>Wake up early and ascend to the very top of Mt. Karisimbi.  The trek  takes about 3-4 hours to reach  the snow capped volcano peak.  Take photos   of  the amazing scene and amiable foliage.  Then descend  down the volcano  in  6 hours. Your AA SAFARIS AND TOURS  guides will be at the foothill  just ready to transfer  you to Kigali .</p>

<p>Day 1: ARRIVAL</p>

<p>Day 2-  Ngamba  Island Tour</p>
<p>Wake up , have break fast and then later our tour guide will transfer you the pier for a boat transfer to Ngamba Island.  There are two half day excursions to Ngamba Island.  One starts at 0900 hours while the other begins at 1200 hours. The choice is yours to choose whether you take any at any time but all are subject to availability and therefore we must book them in advance. Enjoy the ride while on the largest lake in East Africa- Lake Victoria is! At Ngamba Island, they have replicated some of the country’s conservation zones such as savannah, wetlands and tropical forest.  The boat takes about 45 minutes across to <em>Ngamba Island Chimp Sanctuary,</em> crossing the Equator en-route.<br />
On arrival at this home to 39 orphaned chimps, you will be briefed about the sanctuary  and its history. After,  the chimpanzee feeding time will come! Watch these primates from the visitors’ platform while they are being  fed.  It is fascinating to watch the chimps intermingle with each other and with their keepers. You will realize that most of them have different characters just like Man. Whereby some are very greedy others aren’t. This is charming!!  In the relatively short amount of time you will be  there , you will be able to see such different personalities amongst the group, with some whistling for food and others clapping. Clearly, the exceptional option would be to re-introduce these orphaned chimpanzees to the wild however this is not possible for a number of different reasons and the sanctuary is not bad for second best.  Return to the main land after which we will transfer you to at  your Lodge BB</p>
<p>Day 3: KAMPALA &#8211; MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK</p>
<p>From Kampala, you will head to Murchison Falls National Park, but you will first take a luncheon at Masindi then proceed to the magnificent falls. So wondrous! Marvel at the robust Nile as it is farfetched into a seven-meter abyss to rumble 45 meters below. Check the series of cascades it forms, which can be viewed at different points up to the culmination. Next will be the dinner and overnight at</p>

<p>Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK</p>

Expect encounters of Game in this park  that include Rothschild Giraffe, Elephant, Jackson Hartebeest, Lions, Waterbucks and a variety of Savannah woodland birds. Return to your lodge. Have a mid morning breakfast and relax as you wait for lunch.  IN the afternoon, you will go for your reserved private boat ride along the  Nile  to view aqua game and avian species at close proximity. This is a unique encounter with a family of hippos , crocodiles, among other animals. <p>Take breakfast early morning. Leave for Kibale Forest National Park, this is commonly accepted to have a diversity and highest massing of primates in East Africa.  Enjoy a guided  chimpanzee walk in the tropical rainforest evergreen in searching of the Hotsprings, Black white colobus monkeys, wild chimpanzees, red-tailed monkeys, butterflies of different species and many others. Have a luncheon, and then go to the Bigodi areas for a swamp walk. The guide will provide details about the flora and fauna that you will encounter and then after, you will be transferred back to your lodge .</p>
<p>Day 7: KIBALE &#8211; QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Transfer  to Queen Elizabeth National Park .  The drive will take 2-4 hours.  A game drive en route is rewarding with views of acacia trees, antelopes, birds and many other savanna wildlife and flora species.</p>

In the game drive, expect elephants, lions, buffaloes, kobs, the Python, hyenas, warthogs, birds&#8217; hippos etc.   Return to the lodge for mid morning breakfast and then have lunch . In the after noon you will go for   a boat -cruise along Kazinga Channel, a natural channel between Lake Edward and Lake George. Expect to get exposed to a bird sin abundance both typical and migrants and the highest concentration of hippos in Africa. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.</p>
<p>Day 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Wake up for an early moorning breakfast and then  transfer to Kyambura gorge for a chimpanzee tour. Driving through grassland area, straight away we come transversely  to an amazing ravine of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an odd; experience hiking chimpanzees. It&#8217;s so paying  to see the river valley, home of many bird and butterfly species.  Rangers  will provide the necessary information about the gorge and then later you will return to your lodge for lunch, dinner and overnight.</p>
<p>Day 10: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK &#8211; BWINDI.</p>
<p>This morning, you will leave for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You will drive through the seasonal southern sector of Queen Elizabeth known as  Ishasha. Here we will take lunch by the Ishasha River  if time permits and after searching for the famed Ishasha tree-climbing lions before continuing to Bwindi, home to the few remaining mountain gorillas. If you are tracking gorillas in the southern part of Bwindi , you will not be able to drive via this sector to shorten the drive between Kisoro and Queen Elizabeth national park. Bird life and primate life in the Bwindi  national park is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora. Some bird watchers refer to Bwindi as a bird heaven! It holds 348 species of birds and supports 24 of 26 Albertine Rift Endemics that occur in Uganda; and seven red data book species. Once continuous with the forests of the Virunga Volcanoes (Dian Fossey’s stomping ground), Bwindi is now an ecological island, surrounded by cultivation on the rich volcanic soils. Overnight at</p>

<p>Take breakfast, with your packed lunch and  all your trekking gear, that is; a rain coat,ankle level hiking boots on , gardener’s gloves, pair of trousers and long sleeved shirt, etc go to the starting point for briefing by a ranger guide. Enter the gorilla sanctuary for your world premier wildlife encounter and adventure- Gorilla Tracking. The beauty of this rain forest is magnificent. The area offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense, but criss-crossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. The time taken and the terrain vary with the movements of these great giant apes. The thrill of spending time observing these gentle and endangered giants is an awesome, exciting experience to be long savored. Many find it to be a rare and moving experience! <p>An early morning breakfast is followed by a drive/ walk to Kinigi park headquarters  for briefing , group allocation and orientation.  This is followed by a drive to the trailheads where hiking and trekking up the hills to the bamboo zone begins. Hiking, trekking and tracking gorillas may take</p>

<p>Day 14- Dianne Fossey hike / Golden monkey-Transfer to Kanombe airport</p>
<p>Take breakfast and report to the starting point of the Dianne fossey hike for your excursion to slopes of the Bisoke volcano and pay a visit to the former Karisoke centre where the grave of Dian Fossey is located.  Fantastic views, lush forested slopes and an exceptional environment. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>This tour will take you to three National parks which are famous for the rear species of wild life, the gorillas. These are the three of the gorilla operational parks in the world. Parc  National des Volcans in Rwanda, Bwindi and Mgahinga in Uganda. Mgahinga and PNV are on either side of the Virunga Mountains.</p>
<p>This tour starts in Rwanda continuing to Mgahinga and then to Bwindi and Queen Elizabeth National Park in Uganda. Here is where you have an opportunity to track gorillas <strong><a href="/rwanda-safari/rwanda-safaris.html">Rwanda Safaris</a></strong> in their different natural settings. This will not limit you to tracking the gorillas only, you will also get see the golden monkeys, nature walk in the forest for birds, visit local villages especially the pygmies, climbing a volcano and a game drive plus a launch cruise. <p style="font-weight: bold">ITINERARY</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day1:</span><br /> <br />
            Arrive at the Kanombe airport (in Kigali). Pearland safaris will be waiting for you. Or if you are coming by land still you will be waited upon at the bus station by Pearland safaris. Then drive to Kigali city an approximate of 3hours drive. Overnight in Rwanda (Gorilla Nest Hotel near Kiningi)</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day2:</span><br /> <br />
            Transfer to Kaningi park headquarters to track gorillas. Here gorilla tracking is through the forests, swamps and hills, sometimes taking up to 8 hours before meeting the greatest primates in the world. In the afternoon drive to Mgahinga National Park in Uganda. This is approximately three hours drive. Stay in either the travelers Hotel or Kisoro Tourist Hotel.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day3:</span><br /> <br />
            In the morning after breakfast and briefing volcano either go gorilla tracking, subject to payment of  US$&#8230;.. as gorilla permit supplement at the time of booking or go for a nature walk climb a volcano or simply relax at the hotel.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day4:</span><br /> <br />
            Drive to Bwindi in the morning en-route visit the famous Lake Mutanda one of its kind, surrounded by volcanoes, stop still at the Kanaba Gap to enrich your eye on the spectacular Virunga volcanoes and the terraced hills. This is approximately a 5 hours drive. Stay at either Bwindi tented camp or Buhoma Homestead.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day5:              </span><br />
            After breakfast and briefing, either track gorillas, still subject to payment of US$&#8230;&#8230; as the gorillas permit supplement at the time of booking, or go for a guided nature walk in the forest for butterflies, bird species, and plants, or visit the local community- the Buhoma village tourist walk. Stay at either Bwindi tented camp or Buhoma Homestead</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day6:              </span><br />
            In the morning, live for Queen Elizabeth National Park from Bwindi Through Ishaka and visit briefly the famous  for a little adventure. </p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day 7:</span><br /> <br />
            Take an excursion to Kyambura gorge to track chimpanzees and other primates. In the afternoon, after lunch, travel to Mweya for the launch cruise on the kazinga channel, where you will be in contact with Hippos, Crocodiles, Buffalos, Elephants and a wide range of brightly coloured birds and other water antelopes.</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day 8:</span><br /> <br />
            After break fast and a briefing by the tour guide, go for an early morning game drive in the Northern Crater Area, a place with rich grassland and dark lakes set into deep volcanic craters. Get to see the Baboon point where the landscape drops dramatically &ndash;an escarpment; in this expect to see elephants, Uganda kobs, lions, and many more animals</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold">Day9:</span><br /> <br />
            In the morning travel back to Kampala en-route if you wish you may stop at the equator, stop also at Mpambire drum world and buy yourself a locally made drum and proceed to kampala.</p>
