Covering 3840 sq km Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park protecting a chunk of untamed African savannah bisected by the mighty river Nile. It is named for the dramatic Murchison Falls, where the world’s longest river explodes violently through a narrow cleft in the Rift Valley escarpment to plunge into a frothing pool 43m below.

The altitude is 619m at the delta and 1,292 at Rabongo Hill. The mean temperature is 29 0C-high and 21 0C-low. Uganda National Parks

This forest beauty is situated in South Western Uganda on the edge of the western arm of the great East African Rift Valley. It is 331sq km and on an altitude of 1160m (Ishasha gorge) 2607m (Rwamunyonyi peak).

A world of towering trees, giant ferns, triangled undergrowth and hanging vines, this is the quit essential equatorial jungle. The altitudinal range of montane and lowland forest at Bwindi support more species of tree ferns, birds, and butterflies than any other forest in East Africa. This park also boasts of 90 mammal species, including 11 primates, of which the black-and-white colobus, with its lovely flowing white tail, is prominent. Bwindi National Park Uganda Gorillas
A magnificent verdant swathe across the steep ridges of the Albertine Rift Valley, this ancient rainforest – one of the few in Africa to have flourished throughout the last Ice Age – is home to roughly half of the world’s mountain gorillas.

Access
The park can be accessed by road through Kabale. from Kampala its about 500km and the interesting drive will take you between 8-9hrs.

Meals

Climate
The area has an averagely good season throughout the year, with rains all year round. The best seasons to visit Bwindi though are when there are less rains. the most intensive rainy seasons are between April-May and October-November.
