Kwita Izina in Rwanda begins in Fashion.
Rwanda’s Kwita Izina a festival where they name all the new born mountain gorillas which have got no names yet is left with just a few days. It will be starting over this week end on the 16th of June and the function will be outside the national park head quarters in Ruhengeri / Musanze. Where they will also held the cycling tour which they do every year and this time a Rwandan Ruhumuriza Abraham managed to come out as the winner beating all the other international riders.
Abraham is also the winner of the Tour de Rwanda and also some time back managed to win a similar race but there were no imaginary Eritrean or Ethiopian riders at that time something that gave him much joy as he sent off the Algeria’s Azzedine. There was also a another Rwandese among the best top ten something that shows that Rwanda is actually doing good in terms of spots thus a suitable occasion to mark the beginning of the Kwita Izina week. Algerian was the best climber on different stages and Ethiopia’s Gebrehan was the best young rider through out the competition.
The Karisimbi national cycling team got it name from one of the group of gorillas which were habituated along time a go in the Virunga range. They have been apart of several international cycling competitions and they have now gained strength and a lot of experience that they are currently paid off generously. The Rwanda Development Board Tourism and Conservation organized and sponsored the whole event and it is said to have consumed over 70 million Rwanda Francs so said Miss Rica Rwigamba the head of department who was handing over all the trophies and price money to the winners.
Kwita Izina is officially starting to set up all the events they will be carrying out like the exhibition on sustainable energy uses which they think will help t reduce on the green house gases in the future. It will close with the naming of the new born gorilla babies on Saturday.
