Tour driver refute allegation of Masai community exploitation misuse.

The tour drivers from Kenya have refuted all the accusations against them that they have been take advantage of the Masai community every time they take tourists to the Masai Mara game region to visit Manyattas. However according to the Kenya Tourists Drivers and Guides Association chairman Joseph ole Parpai, Vice-chairman Andrew Mungatana and Coast Tours Drivers Association chairman Nzomo Benjamin, the drivers are very honest people therefore all those are just allegations perhaps intended to spoils their image.

This has come up following reports from the press where a British tourist named Cherly Muvula said that they were taking advantage of the Maasai local people by snatching a way their money something that makes all the drivers to wonder where this tourist got that kind of information and yet these drivers and guides have been performing their duties efficiently so said Mungatana and for that matter the drivers intend to file a defamation case against the tourist for referring to them as thieves.

Mungatana added that they have taken the case to court so that she can be able to prove her accusation especially because she posted the comment on the internet from where it appeared in a section of the media.  He emphasized that they will not let this pass as if they do, there will be so many others issues that might rise up  which will tarnish the name of the tour guides and drivers and in the long run will drag down the  Kenya tourism industry. For that particular reason, Parpai would like to know exactly what they have taken away from the Maasai community buy force and beside if this was true, she should gone through the right channels to have this sorted out rather than posting it on the internet which stained the sensitive tourism  industry Parpai added.

According to Parpai, there has never been any complaint from any elders from the Masai region of exploitation which makes every on wonder where she got that information and why she said that. It’s probably because she conspired with a former tour guide in Maasai Mara to tarnish our tourism industry so said Nzomo. He on this note asks the government to carry out an investigation on her conduct as she is probably in the country to destroy the tourism industry and yet it is the major source of income to the government therefore has got to be protected.
