Nairobi park diary back to roots
While there, normally visitors are asked question like have you seen ay lion during the safari> this is frequent question although it may be asked in different ways and in many case it has been very had to give a good answer that hopefully resulted in a sighting. It is very necessary that people do understand the ecosystems and buy doing this, they will know why predators like the lions are common in some areas and not in others and here you need to look at a few essentials.
You need to look at the types of soil and landscape of an area, the wind and rain and appropriate sunshine will determine the type of vegetation in the region and then the type of vegetation will determine the kind of animals in that region for example certain herbivores animals ( those that feed on plants) prefer staying in regions with particular types of plants on which they feed to those areas where there is not food for them and the predators(those that feed on other animals)will definitely follow them like the big cats.
The park remains a small but very important ecosystem which continuously fights against growing big cities. Nevertheless within this park, there are some exclusive habitat zones that converge in this area as the savannah ecosystem is made up of lots of different vegetation types like the open grass plains with scattered acacia bush which is the commonest type, western side has a highland dry forest and a permanent river with a riverine forest. And if any one has an opportunity to visit the area, visit the different areas by noting the soil types, rocks, grasses and some of the trees with insects and birds. This will definitely be one of the best experiences and also make sure you pay attention to the small creatures as the big ones seem to get nicely in the way of the small ones.
