Air Tanzania to increases Domestic Destinations its Serving

By December 14, 2016Tanzanian tourism news

air-tanzaniaAir Tanzania’s team which was recently installed in office has released the airline’s schedule information and the good news is that there are several domestic destinations which have been included on the airline’s weekly schedule.

Today Air Tanzania serves Hahaya – Comoros as the sole international destination that the airline goes to 3 times each week and that is on Tuesday, Thursday as well as Saturday, however it had also started serving various domestic destinations.

The municipal field found in Arusha is currently served 6 times each week, and that is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday according to the most recently released scheduling information. At the moment they are not serving the more expensive and far aware Kilimanjaro International Airport which is located over 50km from Arusha city.

Then the second largest city in Tanzania – Mwanza, is at present being served daily with a departure in the mid-morning from Dar es Salaam. Also ATCL is serving Kigoma as one of its other destinations serving five times each week basing on the schedule information released.

Zanzibar (Spice Island) is another destination included on the airlines schedule information and it is foreseen that once the load factors have increased, there will be daily flights to this destination.

Meanwhile, a couple of other destinations are still being planned for and among them is the so called ‘Gas Capital of Tanzania’ – Mtwara, as well as Mbeya (although among the challenges at this airport is shortage of fuel). Planners within the East Africa region are looking at Entebbe as well as Uganda considering that Fastjet withdrew services from these two destinations leaving behind an evident gap in the connectivity between Uganda and the neighboring Kenya.

In similar news, this airline has advertised for the recruitment of different trainees for the position of cabin crew; which is yet another indicator that once the third brand-new Bombardier Q400NG is received, it will be followed by another two (2) Bombardier CS300’s, an opportunity that will not only open up services to new destinations but also  create several jobs.
