Uganda Wildlife Education centre former Entebbe Zoo acquires male leopard
TH E Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (UWEC) in Entebbe acquired leopard increasing the range of animals.
This one-year-old male leopard was brought from Besterbird Park in Pretoria, South Africa, under the animal exchange program.
James Musinguzi, The UWEC education officer, said the centre last had a leopard, which died of old age, eight years ago.
He added that the leopard, which will be fed on about 4kg of beef every day, will boost domestic tourism at UWEC.
A leopard’s can live up to 15 years in the wilderness but it can live to 28 years in captivity.
